More info

A number of statuettes, some of which are caricatures, have survived the passage of time and illustrate the daily life of the city's inhabitants. These figurines are often provided with a ring, which allowed them to be worn as a lucky charm. Their success led the city's artisans to continue producing them in Roman times, and a number of these statuettes were found outside Egypt.
