Little information has come to us about the artistic career of Yvonne Ripa de Roveredo. Born in Marseilles and then studying in Paris in the studio of Frédéric-Anselme Lottin, her artistic activity began in the 1900s. Painter and poet, she is best known for her engravings, four of which are now kept in the Louvre museum.
During her exhibition at the Georges Petit Gallery in 1923, Camille Mauclair boasts an isolated, spiritual and perfectionist artist as a preface to the catalogue. Influenced by the Italian masters of the Renaissance and the religious mysticism of Gustave Moreau, his first works are part of the continuity of the symbolist movement.
